30: Lost World: Still no word
if we'll ever see a fourth season, but I have added a Lost World
webpage dedicated to the series. CLICK
HERE for the Lost World.
Nov
30: Swollen Member: What do
you do when you can't get your product on the big screen and making
toys for a living isn't enough? For ex comic booker Todd McFarlane is
going to be directing a music video for the Vancouver B.C. based
group, Swollen Member on Dec. 18th.
Nov
30: Next Hunter: Fans can
likely expect to see the second Hunter film that was already scheduled
in February 2003 before the new 8 episode series.
Nov
29: Halloween 9:
Brad Loree who played Michael Myers in Halloween 8 told the website
The Myers Museum that there will be a Halloween 9. He hopes to play
the insane masked killer Michael Myers. (moviehole.net)
Nov
29: Why No Cameron: Why hasn't
James Cameron directed a feature film since Titanic? According to
Cameron himself he's been working his ass off the last five years on
other stuff that interests him, and hasn't done a feature film. He's
enjoys producing and has been developing technology and things he'll
be using in future films. (moviehole.net)
Nov
29: The Punisher: As
scheduled, casting has begun for the new low budget Punisher project,
based on the Marvel Comics character.
Nov
29: Face It, Madonna Sucks:
Ever since the self righteous Material Girl turned maternal she has
put down what made her famous along with the types of people she use
to hang with. Now she is being slam basted over the piece of crap 'Die
Another Day' theme song by the likes of pop music star, Elton John and
composer David Arnold. The singer actually thinks she can act too.
Nov
29: Dinotopia: After watching
the two-hour season premiere of Dinotopia, I was wondering why they
bothered turning the mini-series into a weekly series. The SFX were
really good and the constant Disney ads running on the screen
following a commercial were annoying as hell. What about the acting?
If there was any I would have mentioned it. The dinosaurs were good,
how about that.
Nov
29: Firefly on Hiatus: The
struggling series is going into Hiatus in January according to Fox TV.
Fastlane will move into Firefly's horrible Friday night at 8pm
timeslot at that time. Firefly has until then to find its audience.
Fox President Gail Berman says, "Because we had already ordered
additional episodes, we are going to have several episodes available
when it's out of production. So we'll have a running start if we want
to put it back in production,". Fox is planning to heavily
promote Firefly and see if there is any ratings growth when the
network airs the original two-hour pilot in December.
Nov
29: Ghostbusters 3: According
to Harold Ramis, when he spoke with IGN Filmforce, don't count on it.
So called actor "Bill Murray" doesn't want a sequel to be
made and has been an obstuctionist about it. He owns one fifth of the
rights to the franchise and won't commit to anything. They had
considered doing a film with all new characters but decided against
it. Bringing back the entire original cast and crew the economics
would have been overwhelming. No matter what you pay Bill Murray it's
to much. What is Bill Murray's hang up? Someone in cast disagreed with
the actor. No Murray won't agree, even to the get the project going.
Nor will he sell his rights so the film can get done. Thanks Bill, you
da man... NOT!
Nov
29: Buffy Done But Not: UPN seems
determined to bring Buffy back in some fashion next season with our
without Sarah Michelle Gellar regardless of the ratings for the series
this season. Though the series rating have dropped it is still one of
UPN's best series. The ratings for the series are 4.1/6 rating. UPN
and Josh Whedon are discussing several possible futures for the
series.
Nov
29: Iron Man Melts Away: For
now the Iron Man project is once again dead in the water. Joss Whedon
exited the project before ever getting on board. (coming attractions)
Unless someone steps to the plate soon on this one, fans can expect an
extended wait to see Iron Man beat his way onto the big screen. The
Marvel character would be great in a weekly television series or run
of Telefilms.
Nov
29: Harry Potter: The sequel
should return to the number one spot over the Thanksgiving Day
weekend. With children at home bugging the parents it looks like a
trip to the theater to see Harry Potter one more time is quite likely.
James Bond barely beat out the young Potter last weekend all
indications are good for Harry and the gang.
Nov
29: Conan 3: Moviehole.net
reports: Arnold Schwartzenegger and John Milius are indeed out. But
negotiations are continuing with Warner Bros. for the production and
the project will not be done as a cheap film. It will have the best
production value, the best studio and the best director. Conan
Properties Fredrik Malmberg wants fans to know that Conan is the real
Barbarian, not the Scorpion King.
Nov
29: They Sucked: The Bloody
Disgusting website has just confirmed what I have already told
you. The film should have been called "SHIT". The best parts
were the trailers for upcoming films. After that, the torture really
started.
Nov
29: CSI on DVD: Fans of C.S.I.
can celebrate their series first season hitting DVD in December from
Paramunt. The season one boxed set should be available sometime mid
December in the neighborhood of $79.99. or higher.
Nov
28: Happy Thanksgiving: Nuff
Said. Have a great Holiday. And YES, THERE IS AN UPDATE
TODAY.
Nov
28: Hunter Coming Back: Fred
Dryer and Stephanie Kramer got exactly what they didn't want - the
return to a series. Both were hoping the successful telefilm would
lead to maybe five or six Hunter telefilms per year. And now NBC has
gone and done it wrong by ordering eight episodes of a new HUNTER TV
series starring both of them. (hollywood reporter)
Nov
28: Spiderman 3: We can't get
to the sequel before rumors and talk of the third film start to cycle.
Now Christian Bale, the Rock and Vin Diesel are getting their names
thrown into the hat for villains in the film.
Nov
28: Sabertooth: The weak and
Special Effects challenged Sci-Fi Channel telefilm still managed to
score a 2.0 rating. This telefilm is the networks highest rated
telefilm for the year to date. What a crappy movie.
Nov
28: Lost Gets Lost: The
website SyFy Portal has
learned that NBC has dropped its plans for a new updated "Lost In
Space" telefilm.
Nov
28: Smallville Kicks Ass: The
WB's series about a young non-cape wearing Superman/Clark Kent is
getting a huge fan following. The series is earning a 6.3 weekly
rating for the week of November 10, while Enterprise continues to lose
viewers dropping to a mere 4.5 rating.
Nov
28: Red Dwarf: Pre-production
looks set for this month with shooting set for March of 2003. Visit
the official website
Nov
28: I Robot: Will Smith is
considering the lead role in Alex Proyas film "I-Robot". The
actor has reportedly been dancing around the offer for weeks now and
is expected to make his decision soon. (coming attractions)
Nov
26: Angel Moving: The WB will
relocate the vampire series ANGEL in January from its Sunday at 9pm to
the Wednesday at 9pm slot held by the canceled "Birds of
Prey". (Reuters)
Nov
26: Birds Eroded: Birds of
Prey opened to more than seven million viewers and steadily dropped to
around five million. WB president Jordan Levin told reporters that
Birds was not moving in the right direction creatively. Well, wouldn't
try retooling the series or do changes to make it better. Ask
audiences what they think is missing from the show. Hmmmm. Makes to
much sense. Networks use to retool a series to attempt a fix. Not
anymore, they just pull the plug.
Nov
26: Conan 3 Beaten: IGN is
reporting news that Conan 3 has apparently derailed with Conan
Properties Inc. not renewing its film option with Warner Bros. They
were apparently disappointed with the slow development and the
Wachowski brothers not starting on the film until the Matrix sequels
were completed. They are hoping to move the project to another studio
with a small budget and younger actors in the leads. Milius and
Schwartzenegger are no longer involved.
Nov
26: Alias: Feature film actor
Ethan Hawke has inked a deal to star in an upcoming episode of ALIAS
as a CIA agent who finds himself in need of being rescued by Jennifer
Garner's character.
Nov
26: X-Men 2: The sequel to the
X-Men has completed principle photography as of last Tuesday.
Post-production is ready to begin and will include anywhere from 750
to 800 visual effects shots over the next four to five months. Singer
will work on the film up until there is no time left to tweak on it.
Nov
26: Nemesis Cut: Star Trek
Nemesis has had forty minutes of footage removed from the film. Almost
two-minutes of car chase footage were removed along with part of the
opening sequence and more. Hopefully the footage will be restored in
the DVD. Berman and Baird are sure if they want to sit down and remix
and restore the scenes back into the film. Wow, that sounds like a
no.
Nov
25: Stepford Wives: Joan
Cusack has joined the cast of the Stepford Wives according to the
Hollywood Reporter. Frank Oz is directing the remake. The remake of
the 1975 thriller is being done as Black Comedy. Figures, doesn't
it.
Nov
25: Van Helsing: The Stephen
Sommers directed movie has picked up actress Kate Beckinsale. She'll
play Anna, a daughter to the family committed to the pursuit of
Dracula.
Nov
25: Sabrina: The WB has
ordered the remaining three episodes in the 22 episode season of
Sabrina. There are rumors that the WB will cancel the series at the
end of this season.
Nov
25: 21 Jump Street Returns:
The series from the 80's is jumping to the big screen as many others
have done and are doing. Stephen J. Cannell and Patrick Hasburgh have
inked a deal with Paramount Pictures to script a full-length picture.
The feature will be an updated version of the series and feature young
stars playing undercover cops. No production date has been set. 21
Jump Street starred Johnny Depp and Richard Grieco.
Nov
25: Anaconda 2: the Dark
Horizons website has learned that the $25M budgeted sequel will be
filming in Fiji. None of the original cast will appear in the
sequel.
Nov
25: New Showtime Series: Dead
Like Me: A young woman is killed by a piece of MIR debris, and she
ends up as a Reaper that escorts souls out of the living world into
the afterlife. It will star Rebecca Grayheart (Earth 2), Jasmine Guy,
and Mandy Patinkin.
Nov
25: Star Trek 11: Patrick
Stewart says there will be an 11th film simply put, if the feature
performs well at the box office. Rick Berman, Star Trek honcho and
trek killer, tells Cinescape there will be an 11th regardless of how
well the feature does at the box office. There has never been a Star
Trek film that hasn't made money for Paramount according to Berman.
Whether or not the next film is a Next Generation cast or an ensemble
of the last three series has yet to be determined. Berman believes
mixing up the casts is a viable idea and has ideas on which character
might and might now work in such a capacity. I don't think there is
any chance in hell of seeing Commander Chakotah played by Robert
Beltran. He was very vocal about Voyager and rightly so. But it's
unlikely he would return or that Paramount would consider it.
Nov
25: Enterprise: Rick Berman is
satisfied with the state of the series. UPN however is not satisfied
with Enterprise's ratings this season. If you were running a series,
any series, would you settle for being satisfied with its performance?
Time for Rick Berman to move on and let some fresh blood into the
franchise. Someone not afraid to move beyond the status quo. Someone
willing to push and even break the boundaries of the franchise.
Nov
25: Birds of Prey: Gotham
Clock Tower reports that Birds of Prey will end with a two-parter.
Nov
25: Die Knocks Potter: The
latest James Bond adventure flick was number one at the box office
taking in an estimated $47M. This is the highest opening day for any
Bond film. The most important thing about the weekend might be the
second Harry Potter Film only in its second week of release getting
knocked from the number one spot. Bonds gadgets were able stifle the
magic spells of Harry Potter and company.
Nov
24: Cabin Fever: Cabin Fever,
starring Rider Strong and Jordan Ladd was shown recently at the
Toronto Film Festival. Lion's Gate was so impressed with the film they
bought the film for $2.5M, and a minimum of $15M towards marketing.
Lion's Gate guarantees in 2003 a wide release of at least 1500
screens, possibly 2000. Cabin Fever, produced by David Lynch and
directed by Eli Roth, is about a flesh eating virus that attacks 5
college friends who rent a cabin by the lake. (Joan McCartney)
Nov
23: Self Destructing Discs:
These new discs play the information that is stored on them for a set
amount of time -- eight to 60 hours. Then -- poof! -- the content
mysteriously self-destructs. The latest Bond flick, "Die Another
Day," used Flexplay DVDs to show reporters scenes from the movie
before it was released. the discs turn a deep purple color after the
allotted 36-hour interval yielded an important clue, as did the
company's Web site: "Because DVDs are optically read, the clarity
and transmission of light through the disc's surface are critical to
playback performance." Blaustein said the self-destructing discs
are a good way to give customers a quick taste of music, movies or
television shows. The discs, which are copy-protected, entice buyers
to plop down money for the non-disappearing versions of the content.

Nov
23: Upcoming DVD Series: Due
out early next year are MASH: Season 2; X-Files: Season 7; The
Simpsons: Season 3; Angel: Season 1; Deepspace Nine: Season 1; and
NYPD Blue: Season 1, Also scheduled for sometime next year is Chris
Carter's Millenium and the hit series Will & Grace.
Nov
23: Disney Patrons Poisoned:
That's one way to get back at customers that didn't have a good time
at the expensive world of Disney. In reality though 275 people onboard
a Disney cruise ship suffered food poisoning. There were 3200 people
on board at the time when passengers and crew started to get sick. The
ill were well treated by the two doctors and six nurses on board. But
really.... was it the food or the bill.
Nov
22: Prey Covers Scrapped: TV
Guide has scrapped its plans for multiple covers for 'Birds of Prey',
which the WB has canceled. PREY is deadly word for a television
series. First the series "PREY" lasted just 13 episodes and
now "Birds of Prey" may not make it to its 13 episodes. It
is unknown when production will be halted on "Birds".
Nov
22: 5 Minute Nemesis: Ifilm has the new Nemesis five minute trailer. This could be
the best Star Trek Film yet. CLICK
HERE to get there from here.
Nov
22: No More Storm: Halle Berry
is tired of being part of an ensemble cast and is not interested in
returning to the X-Men as Storm if a third film is done. Berry has
completed her contractual obligation and is no longer obligated to
return. Who cares. Storm was miscast from the beginning. Angela Basset
(as she appeared in Strange Days) would have been perfect for the
part.
Nov
22: Van Helsing: Variety is
reporting that Richard Roxburgh has been tapped to play Dracula,
opposite of Hugh Jackman.
Nov
22: Jurassic Park IV: Jeff
Goldblum told the Hollywood Reporter that He and Sam Neil may be
involved in the new JP4 feature along with Vince Vaughn. The script is
still in the early writing phase. Goldblum also reports that the T'
Rex will be back along with the Dilophosaur and some new dinos.
Nov
22: Taken: Steven Spielberg
says he agreed to go with the Sci-Fi Channel because it's become a
destination for fans of a genre that he loves. The truth is slightly
different in that none of the major networks were interested in the
project and had passed on it. Taken is said to be one of the longest
and most expensive mini-series ever. Special Effects aside, this
project will have to work hard to surpass the mini-series
"V", currently available on DVD.
Nov
22: T4?: It could happen. If
the film generates enough cash flow there could be one final
Terminator feature in the works for the franchise. Clair Danes, who
costars in the film, is signed for a fourth film. Nick Stohl who plays
John Conner is likely signed for the fourth installment as well.
Terminator 3 opens July 2nd, 2003.
Nov
22: Starhunter Done: It is
probably a good thing that Starhunter was completed last year and the
cast members have moved on. The series Starhunter, starring Michael
Pare' has averaged an anemic 0.6 rating share. The series, which
generally airs in the Sunday at midnight timeframe, will not be back.
Nov
22: X is Number 1: Mutant X is
on top of its sister series Andromeda. Last season and this one,
Mutant X and Andromeda, have fought for the top spot in the syndicated
ratings. X has averaged a 2.3 rating with Andromeda hot on their tail
with a 2.2 rating. Both series are the property of Tribune
Entertainment.
Nov
22: Garfield Live-Action: John
Davis will produce his Garfield character in a live-action/animated
feature through his Davis Entertainment for 20th Century Fox. Toy
Story writers Joel Cohen and Alec Sokolov will script the story.
Nov
22: Deepspace Nine: The new
cover art for the season one boxed set is up at the
Digital Bits. Hopefully it's an early design. It isn't very Star
Trek compared to what was done with The Next Generation boxed
sets.
Nov
21: Danger Girl: The comic
book character Danger Girl has been worked into a deal between UPN and
Paramount. Danger Girl will be developed into a new drama series. The
comics tell the adventures of the members of an underground network of
female spies that grew out of the government's success in recruiting
women for espionage duty during World War II. The main character masks
her true mission in life by working as an "outlaw
archaeologist" based out of San Francisco
Nov
21: No Special Trek V: William
Shatner told IGN that there will be no directors cut of the Star Trek
V feature film. According to Shatner the the new release is ready to
roll and it being packaged now. They would not give it to him.
Nov
21: Alien Legion: Mainframe
Entertainment has entered into a production deal to generate 26
episodes of the animated series. Alien Legion was once slated to
become a live action telefilm a few years ago with John Landis
directing. It never came to happen though.
Nov
19: Birds of Prey Gone: The WB
is NOT expected to order any more episodes of its new series
"Birds of Prey". There are four episodes left to film in its
13 episode order. The WB has not yet decided if it will go ahead and
shoot the remaining four episodes. The WB should have left the idea
and design of the series as it was in the unaired pilot. It was much
darker and less... light-hearted. Wolf Lake suffered the same screw up
from its network last season. (variety)
Nov
19: Firefly Extended: The
series Firefly has gotten a two episode extension to 15 total
episodes, and ordered an additional three scripts. The series is now
set at 15 episodes and four script is waiting. Firefly is averaging a
disappointing 4.8 rating share, and a meager 2.2 rating in the most
desired demographic of adults 18 to 49.
Nov
19: Speed: ABC has ordered a
pilot script from producer Mark Gordon based on the 1994 feature,
"SPEED". The series will take place five years before Speed
and deal with the relationship between the characters played by Keanu
Reeves and Jeff Daniels. Graham Yost wrote the script for the first
film and will now executive produce along with Gordon. (Scott Strout
& Hollywood Reporter)
Nov
19: xXx in Dec: Fans can pick
up their copy of XXX starring Vin Diesel December 31st on VHS and DVD.
Nov
19: Crowe Cancels: Russell
Crowe has canceled his bands U.S. Tour due to massive stress. 30 Odd
Grunts was to open for "the Pretenders" on their U.S. Tour.
After completing Master and Commander he will return to Australia to
be with his family and friends. His father is set to have operations
of both wrists for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
Nov
19: Connery Upset: Actor Sean
Connery is upset with Stephen Norrington on the set of "The
League of Extra-Ordinary Gentlemen". The actor doesn't like to be
kept waiting and has his own ideas of how things should be done.
Connery has been around a lot longer than Norrington, but if I am not
mistaken Connery is NOT the director. His responsibilities are so
small compared to what Norrington has to deal with. It becomes worse
when a self-important actor wants things done his way. Connery is a
wonderful actor. Behavior like this is demeaning. Regardless of the
situation, Norrington is the boss and you do things his way.
Nov
19: Coburn Dies: Actor Jame
Coburn (Flint, Sister Act, Magnificent Seven) has passed away at the
age of 74, after suffering a heart attack yesterday in his home in
Beverly Hills.
Nov
19: McQueen Passes Too:
According to Variety 41 year old Pixar animator Glenn John McQueen has
died on October 29th of Melanoma. McQueen worked on Toy Story, Toy
Story 2, A Bugs Life, Monsters Inc., and the unreleased CARS.
Nov
18: Lethal Weapon 5: AICN has
another rumor about the Lethal Weapon franchise. A fifth film is being
rumored for production sometime in 2003. This one however would not
include Mel Gibson, since he does not want to return. The fifth film
would have Glover's character coming out of retirement to solve the
murder of his old partner, Martin Riggs (Gibson's
character). The only problem with this rumor is that Danny
Glover also mentioned that he was NOT interested in a fifth film,
along with the idea that fans would have little interest in the film
without the duo together. I sure as hell wouldn't.
Nov
18: Saint Sinner: While the
telefilm Saint Sinner, on the Sci-Fi Channel, wasn't very good it did
earn some decent ratings on the SFC. The heavily commercialed feature
earned a 1.4 rating share. Wes Craven's latest flick "THEY"
should have been titled "SHIT". The film has received
horrible reviews.
Nov
18: Van Helsing: The Hugh
Jackman flick directed by Stephen Sommers is in pre-production in
Prague. Half the six month shoot will be filming in Los Angeles.
Shooting is scheduled to begin in January. (screen
daily)
Nov
18: Potter Dollars: The second
Harry Potter film took in an impressive $87.7M at the box office
opening weekend. While impressive the lines were not as long this
weekend as they were for the first film.
Nov
18: No True Lies: James
Cameron has told the Coming Soon that he will NOT be returning to
direct the Arnold Schwartzenegger sequel "True Lies II". It
is unknown if someone else will step behind the camera for the project
- the script is already done. Cameron seems fearful to get behind the
lens of a big feature project since Titanic. He last directed the
television 90 minute finale of Dark Angel.
Nov
18: Tremors Series: The Sci-Fi
Channel has announced that the TV Series will debut Friday January
10th of 2003. They have opened a new website for the series you can
view now at scifi.com. You can tour the town, meet the residence and
do a first person shoot'em up. (fangoria and Bloody
Disgusting)
Nov
18: Bill & Ted 3: the Dark
Horizons website has learned that Keanu Reeves is interested in
returning to the franchise for one more with costar Alex Winter to
play their characters in their 40's.
Nov
18: Indiana Jones 4: Frank
Darabont is currently going through the first act and having weekly
meeting with Spielberg on the third act. He does not want to rehash
material from the first three films, but wants to be true to the
characters. Lucas has basically handed off the project off to
Spielberg. (AICN)
Nov
18: Get Smart: Another
television series is rumored to get the big screen treatment. Jim
Carrey is being rumored for the role of Maxwell Smart. The thing comes
to budget constraints and Carrey's $20M paycheck. Jim Carrey's last
few films, with the exception of the Grinch, have bombed at the box
office.
Nov
18: Nemesis Joke: This has to
be a joke since genre films do NOT win any major Oscar Awards.
Paramount Pictures took out a center-fold spread for STAR TREK NEMESIS
in the Hollywood Reporter today, Friday, November 15. The ad submits
the tenth TREK picture for Academy Award nominations in several areas,
from writing to sound editing. These types of ads are customary, with
the last movie, INSURRECTION, receiving similar treatment prior to
release. The ad features a new photograph from the film, showing the
Enterprise facing off with the Reman Scimitar. Among the names listed
under "For Your Consideration" are Patrick Stewart
for best actor, Stuart Baird for best director, Rick Berman
for producing a potential best picture, John Logan for best
adapted screenplay (based on previously-established characters), Jerry
Goldsmith for best original score, and Jeffrey L. Kimball
for best cinematography. Other areas noted in the ad are editing, art
direction, makeup, costume design, sound, sound editing and visual
effects. (trekweb.com) If Harrison Ford can't get nominated for
the three Indiana Jones films, and Jack Nicholson isn't nominated for
Best Supporting actor in Batman as the Joker, no genre film will never
get the nod for a major Oscar.
Nov
18: Swamp Thing: Here's
another comic book that has Nicolas Cage interested. Cage has moved
down the line in comic book films. First it was Iron Man, Superman,
Ghost Rider, Constantine, and now Swamp Thing. (total film)
Nov
17: Firefly: The series on Fox
Fridays will be pre-empted Nov 22nd with Happy Gilmore, and again
during Thanksgiving weekend Nov 29th. It is slated to return to the
Friday night line-up the following week. (Thanks to Sporlock) A
decision is expected this week from Fox on the fate of Firefly.
Firefly does have a large fan base, but they aren't home on Friday
nights and record/download the episodes. It is one of the most
requested series on the internet for download.
Nov
17: Clone Cartoon: George
Lucas has been in meetings with the Cartoon Network about creating a
new series about the Clone Wars. Should the series come to pass the
quality will be more realistic versus cartoonish. It could be similar
to the computer effects used for the SFX in the Episode I and
II.
Nov
17: Sabertooth: Nice opening
scene with the paint guy getting taken out by Sabertooth. What an
original concept though. Junior guides in training in the wilderness,
being trained, when the big wild genetically engineered beast escapes
during transportation. Like the red shirted security guards of Star
Trek, these are the fodder for the film. This one gets a 3 out of 10
rating. It's slow with standard characters and the predictable
storyline. Weak creature effects even for television. These are the
types of movies we lost Farscape for? Nice, real nice.
Nov
17: Hunter Hits on NBC:
Hunter: Old timers Fred Dryer and Stephanie Kramer did an impressive
job for NBC last night in Hunter: Return to Justice. NBC won the night
with a 6.5/11 share overall rating. The Hunter telefilm scored better
with a 6.8/12 share from the 9pm to 11pm timeslot. Things look good
for the next film.
Nov
17: Genre Getting Weak: It's
got to be a weak season for genre series, or not enough to go around.
This weekend while browsing the digital cable I found many
canceled series still airing from last season. Among them, VIP; Relic
Hunter, Beastmaster, and even the Lost World - which has yet to begin
production of its fourth season. Each season we are left with less
original genre series. The market they say is getting smaller, but
it's more about cable networks all picking up the same repeats to fill
slots once owned by syndicated series.
Nov
17: Creature: The Sci-Fi
Channel proved itself once again unworthy of any real fan following.
Friday night they aired the 160 minute (without commercials) version
of Creature in 65 minutes (without commercials) hacking the movie to
bits. For a while I wondered why the SFC never bought the repeat
rights to the mini-series (four hours with commercials) and after the
broadcast I wondered why they bothered. It was horrible, and fans were
robbed of a quality made for television thriller. I am glad to have
the entire feature on tape from its original broadcast. Once again the
Sci-Fi Channel drops the ball. Creature was written by Rockne S.
O'bannon from a novel Peter Benchley. Craig T. Nelson (the
District & Coach) and Kim Cattrall (Sex in the City) star.
Nov
16: Babylon 5 Drawing/Contest:
Scifi2k.com and Warner Bros. are giving away a Babylon
5 DVD Season One Boxed Set. The set should be here by Monday.
Information on entering the drawing will be given out then. CLICK
HERE FOR INFORMATION ABOUT THE DVD BOXED SET.
Nov
16: Jeremiah: Jeremiah
executive producer, Grant Rosenberg has finished his first script for
season two and will likely do one more. J. Michael Stracynski will
write the remaining 13 episodes. Grant has little time to write this
season as he is spending all his time on the set. He has been offered
to direct several times but has desire to step behind the camera.
There is no word about the first season of Jeremiah hitting DVD.
Season two of Jeremiah will be produced and broadcast in HDTV.
Nov
15: MANTIS VideoCD: A set of
VideoCd labels has been added to the site for download. Get your set
today. See all the labels in the VideoCD
Area.
Nov
15: Stargate SG-1 News: Not as
if it's any surprise, as the entire cast has agreed to return to the
series. Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge and Don S. Davis return as
regulars while Corin Nemec continues his recurring role from season
six. No surprise at all.
Nov
15: Paycheck: Looks like were
on the amnesia run of movies. First Jim Carrey is to star in one, and
now Variety reports that Ben Affleck is negotiating to star in John
Woo's scifi/thriller "Paycheck". The feature will be based
on the Philip K. Dick shortstory of the same name.

15: CSI: Miami: The new hit
series C.S.I.: Miami has joined the roster of new VHS Cover Sheets on
site for download. Many covers have left the site for one cover
instead of two, and
webpage space. In the near future I hope to offer a disc with all the
covers I have. While there will be over one hundred on the site, there
will be at least half that man more on the disc. It will include cover
sheets that might just be missing text. Download CSI: Miami today.

15: Space 1999 & Others:

16 cd boxed set for a mere $89.99. They also have the first season of
Babylon 5 for $69.99 along with a crapload of other great series in
seasonal boxed sets. All at pretty decent prices.
Nov
15: Hunter: It's time for
Hunter to return to the streets in his new telefilm that will reunite
Fred Dryer and his original partner Stephanie Kramer. Hunter: Return
to Justice lands on NBC this month. NBC has plans for at least
one more telefilm and if they prove successful could become a
telefilm franchise. Both actors say they are willing to return for a
handfull of telefilms per year rather than a weekly television series
again.
Nov
15: Babylon 5: As you will
notice, we are running a banner for the NEW Babylon 5 DVD Season One boxed
set. It is the only banner ad on the site and not affiliated with any
banner company. Scifi2k.com is NOT getting paid to run the banner
either at this time. Babylon 5 was and is a wonderful television
series. One of the best sci-fi series ever done. A great addition to
any DVD Collection. Order your set today. Click on the banner to
learn more about the series and how to order. CLICK

15: Firefly, Down to Friday:
Mutant Enemy, the production company for Firefly, hopes to hear about
the shows fate for the back nine episodes. Much depends on that stats
for Friday nights episode "ARIEL" at 9pm on Fox. While the
series is more of a drama than normal Sci-fi it is a very good series.
It deserves to at least get to complete its first season. Even if you
despise Fox for killing Dark Angel to bring in Firefox, step back and
at least support the series until the end of a full-season. Watch tonight and bring the ratings up to get the green on the back
nine. Please show some support for the few genre series we have left
of television. Watch Firefly tonight. Firefly's new website
isn't bad, but they think it is like a fan sites website. It isn't
really, but it is nice. CLICK
HERE to check it out. Yes, a new browser will open.
Nov
15: Firefly Rumor 2: Another
rumor hitting the websites is that Firefly will be around for the
entire season, but Fox will retool the series for a more sci-fi blend
and pull back on the old west aspect of the series.
Nov
14: Doe & Fastlane: New
series Fastlane and John Doe have both been picked up for a full
season. Fox is claiming Doe's high ratings earned the renewal, but the
ratings for the series aren't that incredible.
Nov
14: Deprivers: The two-hour
scifi/thriller telefilm, Deprivers, for TBS could be a back door pilot
for a potential series. The telefilm is in development from Mandalay
Pictures and Sony Pictures Television. Writer/Director Andy Wolk will
helm the picture.
Nov
14: Quaid Turns To Nascar:
Dennis Quaid looks set to work for Disney again. This time he will
play Lee Petty, the great race car driver father to one Nascar legend
Richard Petty. Quaid is expected to begin work on the film as soon as
they cast the young Richard Petty. (moviehole.net)
Nov
14: Total Recall 2: AICN has a
rumor that Total Recall 2 is back on Arnold's "TO DO" list.
Just recently director/actor Jonathan Frakes said that a sequel was
deemed to expensive and the cut down script wasn't very good. NOW...
supposedly (big rumor - take it at that) Arnold is SET to return, Paul
Verhoeven will direct and scribes Ronald Shusett and Gary Goldman will
pen the script. The feature will be out in the summer of 2004.
Nov
14: Stupid Rumor: Imagine a
rumor at AICN that Vin Diesel would stoop to playing the lead in the
upcoming "Knight Rider" film, as Michael Knight. Just
because Revolution Pictures is doing the film (they did xXx and Fas
and the Furious) doesn't mean that he'll do this one for under his
current $20M payroll. AICN is indeed reporting that the actor is
currently the favorite for the role. Just sounds like a publicity
stunt to circulate interest for the Knight Rider feature.
Nov
12: No Spidey Profit: In order
to keep from paying Stan Lee the 10% of profits from Spiderman (his
creation) are claiming the $400M feature has made NO PROFIT. Funny,
the Batman franchise has made no profit for Warner Bros. And this same
shit happened to the man who wrote Forrest Gump and got shit, because
the network has made No money on that film.
Nov
12: Dropping the Batman:
Onstar will begin phasing out their Batman commercials by 2003,
turning their attention to cheaper radio ads. Hell, I haven't seen a
Batman Onstar Commercial in many a month.
Nov
12: Diesel Gets Stupid: Vin
Diesel, Star of the upcoming Pitch Black trilogy and xXx franchise, is
tired of making action movies and wants to be taken seriously as an
actor. The stupid idiot wants to be the next Tom Hanks. Give me a
break. Sounds like Bruce Willis, who thinks he's a better dramatic
actor than action star.
Nov
11: Prey on TV Guide:
Superhero Hype has confirmed that the WB's Birds of Prey will grace
the cover of TV Guide in a four cover set for the Dec. 14th issue. It
is currently unknown if the covers will use actual photos or be done
with an artists rendering. There is to be a big feature on the series
inside. This could likely be a great sign that the series will be
around for a full-season.
Nov
11: Supergirl: Little tidbit
rumors of a possible return to the Supergirl franchise continue to pop
up. Now comes a rumor that Naomi Watts is up for the role of Supergirl.
Nov
11: Jeremiah: After picking up
Sean Astin for season two, they have now gone out and gotten actress
Joanne Kelly to join the cast. Kelly had a recurring role on the late
Tracker series, and appeared in the syndicated series Muntant X. Grant
Rosenberg, who is now an executive producer for Jeremiah this season
also worked on Tracker may have had something to do with Kelly getting
the role.
Nov
10: Back In Action: Mathew
Lillard tells the scifi wire that he'll have an appearance in the
upcoming "Looney Toons: Back In Action" feature which stars
Brendan Frasier. Lillard's come a long way since his role as computer
geek in the underrated feature "HACKERS" which also
co-starred Angelina Jolie.
Nov
10: Jekyll & Hyde: Shaun
Cassidy and Sam Raimi, who teamed up for the series "American
Pie" are teaming again for CBS to create an latter-day Jekyll/Hyde
series. The new series will revolve around a forensic psychiatrist.
Cassidey will write the pilot and executive produce along with Raimi
and David Eick. Raimi will NOT be directing. (cinescape)
Nov
10: Hollywood Tramp: Hollywood
has made being a tramp, a normal thing in America. No better proof
than beautiful Jennifer Lopez. The actress is 32 years old, appears in
public nearly nude (not a bad thing), not divorced yet from her second
marriage of one year, but is pregnant with Ben Afflecks child, and is
now engaged to the actor. But can't get married to him until February
when her divorce becomes final. She will then marry Affleck on
Valentines Day. Whew. Besides being an average singer, and actress,
the pretty lady is a busy woman.
Nov
10: Jinx: The $500,000 breast
woman, Halle Berry, is considering an opportunity to take her JINX
character from 'Die Another Day' solo to her own spy action flick.
Producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have confirmed that
they are serious talks with MGM to take the character solo. Berry has
five movie in work, but said if the offer became official she would
have to find some way to work it out. (zap2it.com)
Nov
10: Angel: Producer Jeffrey
Bell plans to shake up the main characters over the few weeks to
months. Says Bell, "I think what we're going to do is sort
of scatter people, to a certain extent, emotionally and
physically," Bell said in an interview. "We'll be bullying
them and bandying them about for a while, until they need to come
together to fight this horrible Big Bad that will show up in episode
seven, I think it is, which will be the show right before we take a
break over the Christmas holiday." Episode seven will air Nov.
17th on the WB. (Ron Wolfe)
Nov
10: Angel DVD: The 22 episode
first season is heading to DVD in a costume boxed set. This is
particular interesting since the series has yet to be sold into second
run syndication. Also heading to DVD is the first season of NYPD Blue
and the second season of Queer as Folk.
Nov
10: V: A small fan area for V
and the V: The Series has been added to the site for viewing. CLICK
HERE to visit the new V PAGE.
Nov
10: Stargate Update: Negotiations
continue. Besides negotiations continuing with the regular cast
members (other than Shanks and Anderson) the network and MGM are still
working on contracts with department heads, and other people. Most of
this has to do with the Sci-Fi Channel not giving the order (working
the deal with MGM) until very very late. Richard Dean Anderson only
appeared in about 11 of the 22 episodes of season six, but he is
hoping to appear in as many episodes as possible. He is a single
parent and his daughter in Los Angeles comes first. He schedule this
year too will be abbreviated, but hopefully fans of the series will
get to see more of him.
Nov
10: Young MacGyver: Richard
Dean Anderson (the original MacGyver) was contacted by Paramount about
his interest in being involved in the new WB series "Young
MacGyver". The offer didn't feel right, so the actor will NOT be
involved in the new series.
Nov
10: X-Men 3: Producer Lauren
Shuler Donner told Entertainment Tonight is thinking about a third
installment. She would love to have Bryan Singer helm the film, even
though he isn't contractually obligated to do one. Previously Singer
mention a third installment would be too expensive to do. (comics
continuum)
Nov
9: Shanks Returns to SG-1: The
Sci-Fi CHannel has confirmed that Michael Shanks will return to
Stargate SG-1 as a regular cast member for season seven. He will once
again play cast member Dr. Daniel Jackson and Richard Dean Anderson,
the star, will appear in more episodes this season than last year. The
network also confirmed that so far only Shanks and Anderson will be
returning. (Ron Wolfe) Look for the remaining season six episodes to
begin airing in January with the remaining episodes of Farscape.
Nov
9: Bruckheimer Busy: The
feature director/producer has become a busy television developer.
Beyond C.S.I. and C.S.I. Miami, the mogul has just sold S.T.I.N.G. to
ABC about a multi-agency task force using sting operations to catch
the bad guys. Bruckheimer has already sold pilot commitments to CBS in
COLD CASES, SKIN for Fox. (Scott Strout & Hollywood Reporter)
Nov
9: JAG: The military
drama/action series JAG continues to win its 8pm timeslot this season
and has already been picked up for next season. Before last season CBS
gave JAG a two-year commitment.
Nov
9: Rings II Not Ready: Peter
Jackson is scrambling with re-edits to get "The Two Towers"
ready for its December 18th release. Nervous executives have been told
the movie isn't finished yet. Producer Barrie Osbourne say Jackson is
a perfectionist, and the film will be done when it's needed. (Scott
Strout)
Nov
8: Doc Ock: the website
"E-online" has come up with some interesting news that actor
Robert De Niro could be up for the role of Doctor Octopus in the
second film. If De Niro should pass they say Billy Bob Thornton is
waiting in the wings. That's bad news.
Nov
8: Campbell the Lizard:
Despite Bruce Campbell telling everyone he is not involved in the
Spiderman sequel, E-online is saying that the 40 something actor has
been cast as the Lizard. Might as well wait for official casting
information to be released.
Nov
8: More Super for WB: The WB
is continuing on with the superhero business for another series. They
are developing "FEARLESS" as a hour-long superhero drama
about a girl named Gina Moore, who is born without the gene for fear.
Her mother is murdered and her father, an antiterrorist, is in hiding.
Jerry Bruckheimer (C.S.I.) is producing. The series is based on the
young adult novels by Francine Pascal. (variety)
Nov
8: C.S.I. Miami: Kim Delaney
can't catch a break anymore. Delaney is already on her way out of the
first season hit series, "C.S.I. Miami", as her role has
dwindle through the first ten episodes. Time to move back to NYPD
Blue.
Nov
8: Stargate Season Seven: The
Sci-Fi Channel has renewed the MGM series for full seventh season,
using the money once reserved for season five of Farscape.
Unfortunately Richard Dean Anderson will remain as executive producer
and star of the series. Production of season seven is slated to begin
in Vancouver early next year for a summer 2003 release.
Nov
7: Some Good, Some Bad: It's
been an interesting season already... The best scifi series, Farscape,
gets the axe from the Sci-Suk Channel. The most anticipated series
Firefly on Fox, flops every week, and it's a pretty damn good series.
The surprise series for me would be from Showtime in Jeremiah and
Odyssey 5. Both series are enjoyable week in and week out. Nothing
genre breaking, but enjoyable watching the main characters do their
job and act. Another high would be the second season of Smallville,
which is very well done at the WB. I am glad that I never expected
much from the second season of Enterprise. I wasn't disappointed in
the standard boring Star Trek work from Rick Berman and company. For
Buffy... it is time to move one and leave the Vampire stuff to Angel.
The Charmed ones were done when Prue was killed off, even though the
ratings have been pretty darn good this season. One surprise though
has been Adventure Inc. starring Michael Biehn. I didn't like the
pilot but the series has grown on me each week. Andromeda is much
better for me this season with single episode storylines rather than
one that runs the entire season, The writing seems much better, while
Mutant X continues along the same lines as last season. Not bad, but
far from a favorite. Birds of Prey... I haven't been very impressed
with and fans don't seem to impressed with it either as the ratings
continue to drop every week. I still miss shows like the Pretender,
Special Unit 2, Deepspace Nine and others, but the new crop ain't half
bad. Now if they can just make enough money for the networks to hang
around for a few seasons. The days of shows like Xena and Hercules
being around for a while are long gone. That could be good or bad.
Nov
7: Daredevil Trailer: Man! the
new trailer for Daredevil is HOT, HOT, HOT! If you haven't downloaded
the trailer yet then do it now. CLICK
HERE for the official site and the trailer.
Nov
7: Shinobi: Mindfire
Entertainment has purchased the feature film and television rights to
the ninja video game. The budget has been set at $40M for the picture
with a release date for the summer 2004. Nothing is currently in
development for TV.
Nov
7: Border Patrol: Don Johnson
could be returning to the small screen in a new series titled
"Border Patrol". A New-Mexico drama that will depend on the
pilot script or scripts before the Nash Bridges/Miami Vice actor
commits to it.
Nov
7: Casino Eye: Another series
could land at Las Vegas' doorstep in the near future titled
"Casino Eye" from Don Johnson and Scott Steindorf's new
production company DJS Productions. Hopefully the series would be
filmed entirely in Vegas rather than mostly in Los Angeles like C.S.I..
The series would revolve around a Vegas based surveillance expert. It
is being written by Gary Scott Thompson (Fast and the Furious).
Nov
7: Jurassic Park IV:
Universal has hired William Monahan to scribe the fourth installment
of the hit franchise. Kathleen Kennedy will again produce the feature.
It is also possible that Sam Neil will return to the franchise for the
third time in four films. The three films have made almost $2B
worldwide since 1993. (moviehole.net)
Nov
7: Trek V Reworked: William
Shatner confirmed to Cinescape Online that he is in talks with
Paramount about reworking Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, which he
directed, for a DVD cut of the film. They may be doing a directors cut
of the film, but it depends if there is any money for the special
effects to be reworked.
Nov
5: Bond One More Time: Pierce
Brosnan tells writer Amy Archerd that he will play James Bond one more
time in what would be his fifth film as Secret Agent Man, 007. The
fifth mission for the actor might take place in 2005 and he is hoping
for a raise in his final James Bond outing. Actor Michael Madsen is
expect to return in the film too. (moviehole.net)
Nov
5: Frasier Swansong: Kelsey
Grammer is ready to call it quits on Frasier. He tells E Online that
he thinks about it a lot and the days are numbered." NBC has
already picked up the series for next season so he'll be around for
the remainder of this season and the next. It should be the final
season. (Scout Strout)
Nov
5: Wonder Woman: Joel Silver
is still planning to do the forever project "Wonder Woman"
at some point. At this point, who gives a shit if the picture ever
gets done. Damn!
Nov
5: More SFC Movies: The Sci-Fi
Channel (we use that term loosely these days), has greenlit four more
of its Saturday Night Original Features. Deathlands, about a
world ravaged by radiation. Traci Lords will co-star in this one. Encrypt,
about an apocalyptic Earth turned unbearable by terrible storms. Webs,
will follow a treasure hunter on an alternate, spider covered Earth,
that is being hunted by a Spider-Woman, and finally Bugs,
follows a mechanical engineer fighting bugs underneath a Canadian
City.
Nov
5: Dead Like U: DEAD follows a
teenager that dies and comes back, except she comes back in some form
that is unrecognizable to friends and family. Ellen Muth, Rebecca
Gayheart, Jasmine Guy and Mandy Patinkin starred in the pilot.
Nov
5: Haunted: After already
being canceled, UPN has announced now it will pull the series from its
line-up after tonight's airing. UPN claims no official decision has
been made but word was released weeks ago the show had been canceled.
The shows 11th episode is currently under production. If UPN doesn't
complete the airing fans could likely look for it on the Sci-Fi
Channel.
Nov
5: Pac-Man Feature: A terribly
stupid decision has been made to turn one of America's all time
favorite video games into a live action adventure movie. The assured
box off flop will be done by Crystal Sky. They have purchased the
rights from Namco.
Nov
5: Blast: Eddie Griffith
(undercover brother) will headline a Die Hard type feature for MPCofA
and Gemini Films titled "BLAST". The actioner takes place on
an oil rig. Principal photography is slated to begin in December in
South Africa. The film is written by Die Hard scribe Steven E. De
Souza and will be directed by Anthony Hickox who did Hellraiser III.
The film is budgeted for a mere $20M. Read about more films being done
in the MOVIE MANIA section of
the website.
Nov
4: War of the Worlds: I
received an email from today from Pendragon Pictures that the release
date of Timothy Hines "War of the Worlds" release date is
moving up from the summer 2005 to summer 2004. While WAR OF THE
WORLDS moves into pre-production, Pendragon Pictures' CHROME is
currently shifting into post-production. Mark Wolf of Wolf
Entertainment Media and Cinema Production Services, (currently
creating miniatures for LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN), are being
brought on board to create miniatures and perform post-production
motion control work. The Wolf team includes miniature expert Mike
Joyce (RUSH HOUR 2, TERMINATOR 2, BATMAN RETURNS, INDEPENDENCE DAY),
and motion control expert Dave Hardberger (LORD OF THE RINGS,
BLADERUNNER, RETURN OF THE JEDI). Pendragon Pictures is in talks with
Randy Rogel (BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES, BATMAN & MR. FREEZE:
SUBZERO, THE LEGEND OF TARZAN, ANIMANIACS) to score the film. CLICK HERE to read the entire PRESS
RELEASE. Or visit Scifi2k.com's area dedicated to "WAR
OF THE WORLDS".
Nov
3: Alien Saga Documentary: AMC
will air an Alien Saga Documentary on Nov 13 (8pm), 14 (2:50pm), &
17th (2:20pm). "In
space, no one can hear you scream." The cracking of the alien egg
in the theatrical trailer for Ridley Scott's 1979 masterpiece, Alien,
ushered in a whole new era of science fiction, and created one of the
most suspenseful films of all time. The Alien Saga presents the
first-ever behind-the-scenes look at all four Alien movies in
the series--including screen tests, outtakes, home movies and
exclusive interviews with members of cast and crew, and film
historians. (Brian Pesti)
Nov
4: Sabertooth: The Sci-Fi
Channel will its original feature "Sabertooth" on Saturday

sabertooth tiger.
Nov
4: Nemesis: Trekweb is
reporting that Star Trek: Nemesis' final running time is set at 116
minutes.
Nov
4: Spiderman: As of November
3rd Spiderman has taken in over $200M in sales and rentals.
Nov
4: Birds Campaign: Fans of the
new series "Birds of Prey" seem a bit worried the Frog isn't
going to pick up the series for a full order. They are organizing a
campaign to keep the show alive. You can do your part by going to
birdsofpreyonline.com. The ratings for the series have dropped
each week the series has aired. (should have left the original idea as
it was intended) Campaigns and letter writing have no effect on
network decisions. Remember Dark Angel, Farscape, Invisible Man, Prey,
Witchblade, and all the other great series that have come and
gone screaming into the night? They too had more dedicated fans than
Birds of Prey could hope to have.
Nov
4: Sheffield Passed Away:
Sci-Fi Writer Charles Sheffield died of brain cancer on the
morning of November 2nd. The author of Heritage and Proteus leaves
behind his Sci-Fi writing wife Nancy Kress.
Nov
4: Doctor Smith Passes: The
great Doctor Smith of Lost in Space played by "Jonathan
Harris" has died at the age of 81. Rest In Peace Mr. Harris. (darkhorizons.com)
Nov
4: Aliens vs Predators: Total
Film is reporting that Lance Henrikson has signed on to the
project. It does seem unlikely since the script isn't even done
yet by Paul Anderson.
Nov
4: Chrome: Pendragon Pictures
also sent along a new image from Chrome, which is in post-production.
Chrome is schedule to hit theaters in 2003. CLICK
HERE for a larger view. CLICK

Interview with star Katie Tomlinson and check photos of her too.
Nov
4: Hunter: A return of the
80's television Dirty Harry, HUNTER happens November 16th. Fans will
be treated to... HUNTER: Return to Justice on NBC. Stephanie Kramer
and Fred Dryer reprise their roles. What are the chances this will be
a quality telefilm? Who knows as the 50+ actor returns to the role.
But it's good to see Hunter one more time.
Nov
4: Bond Girls Forever:
Wednesday November 6th at 8pm fans can catch the documentary
"Bond Girls are Forever" on AMC. The James Bond documentary
is hosted by Maryam d'Abo who played a Bond Girl in "The Living
Daylights" as Kara Milovy.
Nov
4: Spider Sales: Spiderman hit
pay dirt as expected in DVD sales. Saturday sales racked up 26,000,000
copies of Spiderman on DVD and VHS. Over 40 million units were shipped
world wide. Makes you wonder if Episode 2 will surpass this record.
Nov
4: Dredd Financed: 2000AD
Films has gotten financing for its Judge Dredd projects. After a
public offering in 2000AD, a UK based investment group shelled out an
undisclosed amount of cash for the rights to Judge Dredd, Strontium
Dog and others. Work is already underway on the back to back features
of Judge Dredd. (comics2film & Hollywood Reporter)
Nov
4: Doe vs Hack: In the main
demographic of 18 to 49 year olds John Doe and HACK are neck and neck
in the ratings with Doe hanging on to a slim lead of 2.6 to 2.4.
Nov
4: Firefly: Overall ratings
are very different from the demographics that really matter. That's
the 18 to 49 range. Firefly is the worst rated 8pm show of the four
networks with a 2.1 rating. However, the best rating is only a 3.0.
Firefly's demise comes in the second half-hour falling to 1.9 at
8:30pm while all the other networks improve by .4 or better. Ratings only cover about 53% of the market, and generally no genre
fans. (futoncritic.com)
Nov
4: Carrie: One film wasn't
enough, they made a sequel. Man, it was horrible. Now the average
story moves to the small screen on NBC for third attempt to be taken
seriously. Fans will get a three hour ( Two-hours without commercials)
viewing of Angela Bettis as Carrie tonight at NBC. Do yourself a favor
and watch just about anything else tonight.
Nov
3: Friday TV Gets Good: While
most people have better things to do with their Friday nights, not all
of us do. The night is loaded with some good TV. Firefly is getting
much better. The night.... Firefly at 8pm, Hack at 9pm and the
recorder catching John Doe @ 9pm. Then it's on to the pay per view
channels for Odyssey 5 at 10pm and Jeremiah at 10:45. Following that,
I watch an episode of MONK on TNT and finish up with the recorded John
Doe. Friday night is a great night on television for genre fans.
Nov
3: Site Update: I have removed
the Digital Artwork from the site (the downloads were limited) as well
as almost all of the duplicate VHS Cover Sheets. I will start deleting
the VHS Side Labels in the near future. Get what you need. The Book
Review area hasn't been updated in quite awhile and has been deleted
as well.
Nov
3: The Flash: A second set of
FLASH VCD labels have been added to the
site for download. Get yours today.
Nov
2: Scifi2k.com: The website
will continue to operate at this time, but at a reduced rate. Due to a
severe cost increase the site will be... dropping areas that don't get
the most use, or I am not working on any longer. The digital artwork
section is gone, and the vhs side labels area will be vanishing too.
Some other areas will be affected. Due to costs I must cut
down on webpage space, as well as bandwidth download. Can't afford to
upgrade the site limits at this time.
Nov
2: Firefly Change: Firefly has
changed the opening theme with Mal doing the narrating beginning
tonight.
Nov
2: Inspector Gadget:
Clint from Moviehole.net dropped some news today that some images from
the new Inspector Gadget 2 have hit the internet. CLICK
HERE to check them out. (thanks Clint)
Nov
1: Website Problems:
Scifi2k.com might be either shrinking or disappearing in the very near
future. Thanks to server changes at hispeed.net being bought like
three times my website hosting could be in danger of disappearing over
cost and limitations on webspace and bandwidth. No one really wants to
donate for expenses and banner ads don't pay shit for the trouble they
make on the website. Will get more info from hosting agent in the
morning. But it doesn't look good. If the site is to remain up, the
VHS Areas will likely be shutting down to save webpage space along
with the Space Art areas. Most changes, to a complete site shutdown
could happen within the next few days... and as early as
tomorrow.
Nov
1: Mandrake, the Magician:
Hyde Park Entertainment has teamed with Crusader Entertainment to
acquire the movie rights to the comic strip "Mandrake the
Magician". The live-action movie will be adapted by Josh
Oppenheimer and Tom Donnelly.
